I then graduated from Hokkaido University School of Medicine. Following the completion of the junior residency training program at Obihiro Kosei Hospital, I concurrently pursued my PhD at Hokkaido University Graduate School of Medicine while also completing the senior residency program in the Department of Diagnostic Radiology at Hokkaido University. I obtained a PhD in Medical Science and board certification as a diagnostic radiologist. Subsequently, I worked as a Special Postdoctoral Researcher at RIKEN and as a research fellow at the NIH in the USA. I returned to Japan in September 2024 and started to work as a Specially Appointed Assistant Professor at the Graduate School of Medicine before starting to work as a URA at the Hokkaido University in May 2025.

Responsibilities as a URA at Hokkaido University

I am currently part of the External Grants Team. I am eager to play my part in supporting Hokkaido University researchers with their funding applications and in elevating the university’s research profile.

Personal statement

How I became a URA at Hokkaido University

My motivation is to utilize my unique background, which is not very common, to offer support, especially to young researchers and students.

The aspects of being a URA at Hokkaido University that I have enjoyed

Although I’m still finding my feet in this new position, I have a hope that my unusual career path might allow me to contribute in some way.

Self-promotion (free description)

My experience spans clinical work (diagnostic radiologist, imaging analysis) and basic neuroscience research, and I hope to bridge these disciplines. I also employ continually advancing AI for research (e.g., programming for analysis, drafting papers), teaching, and daily tasks. Feel free to inquire if this interests you; I can likely help those unsure how to make the most of AI.

My hobbies, things I am crazy about, sources of fulfillment in life, etc.

Playing with my child.

["post-12795","member","type-member","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry
["GET
