In FY 2012, Hokkaido University was appointed to conduct the “Project to Develop a System to Foster and Secure Research Administrators (World-class Research Center).” It is subsidized by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology. As one of the undertakings under the project, the Research Administrator Education Program for FY 2013 will be held.

1. Program Name: “The Hokkaido University Research Administrator Education Program FY 2013”
2. Objectives: To provide opportunities for the learning of basic knowledge and skills of URAs for target personnel so that they can improve their competencies as URAs, toward the promotion and establishment of URAs. Targets are educational and clerical staff who engage in work similar to that of URAs at Hokkaido University and at other universities in the prefecture.
3. Date & Time:
9:30 a.m. – 4:40 p.m., February 27 (Thur.), 2014
9:00 a.m. – 4:40 p.m., March 6 (Thur.), 2014
and 9:00 a.m. – 4:40 p.m., March 13 (Thur.), 2014 (completion of program)

4. Venue: Hokkaido University (Details will be provided later.)
5. Targets: Educational and clerical staff (at any position) who engage in planning and coordination related to the following: obtaining external funds, planning research strategies and conducting research administration.
Educational and clerical staff who are expected to take the above-mentioned roles.
6. No. of participants: 30 (When candidates exceed 30 people, screening will be done.)
7. Course completion notification: The completion of the course will be reported to the managers of the participants.
