Career history

After working in the general affairs and accounting departments of a financial institution and a private company in her hometown, Ms. Tateno moved to Sapporo due to a major life event and joined Hokkaido University. Upon completing her contract at the university, she returned to the financial sector. She has been in her current position since May 2019.

Responsibilities as a URA at Hokkaido University

Ms. Tateno is in charge of the administrative operations and human resources training at the Integrated URA Office. She has achieved personal and professional growth by supporting other URAs—who provide a broad range of services, including strengthening research capabilities and planning, proposing and implementing initiatives for university management—to ensure they can carry out their duties smoothly. She intends to continue learning, spare no effort, and always remember the importance of enjoying every task as she contributes to the office.

How I became a URA at Hokkaido University

I returned to the office because I wanted to work with the people I met during my previous contract. I appreciate the fortuitous encounters and circumstances that led me here, and working here feels like fate.

The aspects of being a URA at Hokkaido University that I have enjoyed

Working with various people on and off campus allows me to broaden my horizons. Through hands-on experience in my various tasks, I continuously discover and learn new things.

My hobbies, things I am crazy about, sources of fulfillment in life, etc.

I started running during the COVID-19 pandemic, and it became an important part of my life, allowing me to run full marathons several times a year. Running teaches me valuable lessons and provides meaningful experiences. I am grateful every day for my wonderful running friends.
